For the past 30 years, our proven Model of Care has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using a range of evidence-based strategies. We now educate and support Foster Carers in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

About the role

HOW WILL I HELP?

This role is responsible for leading the project coordination of a 3-year, proof-of-concept study evidencing Lighthouse Foundation’s Model of Care within our kinship care program, Family Support, alongside general monitoring and evaluation support for Care Services. This is a collaborative research project working alongside stakeholders across home-based care and Monash University. The role will involve leading project meetings, qualitative and quantitative data preparation and analysis using a range of methods, and report production. This position will also involve engaging young people, Carers and staff to support program evaluation.

This is a collaborative role, facilitating engagement across the project team and ensuring accurate and timely access to data for internal and external stakeholders. The Evaluation Projects Officer must be committed to upholding evidence-based practice and ethical procedures and be passionate about supporting future systemic change. The Evaluation Projects Officer will work autonomously and as part of a team, have excellent administration and project management skills, and be open to continued learning and development.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

First and foremost, interpersonal skills are a must, with a level of maturity and understanding needed when working with those who use and support our services.

From a professional standpoint you will require;

  • Proven ability and experience in a similar role within the not-for-profit sector
  • High computer literacy with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (including proficiency in Excel)
  • Experience in research methods, data collection and analysis (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Experience in report writing
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesise data and information from various sources
  • Experience in using statistical analysis software (e.g. SPSS)
  • Interest in conducting research and evaluations within the out-of-home care and youth homelessness sectors
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills
  • Ability to work independently and liaise with various teams across the organisation
  • Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines, and have a high attention to detail
  • Highly motivated with initiative and capacity to work independently
  • Understanding confidentiality, ethics, and trauma-informed practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development

For this role you will please note you will also need:

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant/associated field
  • Criminal Records check
  • Current Working with Children check
